The R&D institution of Tianjiang Pharmaceutical has a full range of equipment for project study. The testing platform is ensured with a clean and safe environment. The laboratory instrument operators have been trained by professional teachers before conducting operations, so as to effectively test the indicators in strict accordance with the operational procedures. In 2016, the laboratory purchased 10 sets of R&D equipment such as UPLC and freezer dryer, which improved the infrastructure construction of the platform. R&D laboratory can improve the quality control of TCM formula granules through thin-layer chromatography, content determination methods and specific chromatogram study, and improve the safety of TCM formula granules through setting limits for safety indicators, e.g. heavy metals and harmful elements, pesticide residues, aflatoxin and sulfur dioxide residue. At present, the company has arranged thin-layer chromatography (TLC) for 405 product varieties, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for 170 varieties and specific chromatogram (IR) for 100 varieties.
At present, Tianjiang Pharmaceutical has the following R&D institutions, i.e. Jiangsu TCM Formula Granules Engineering Technology Research Center, Jiangsu Enterprise Technology Center, National Post-doctoral Workstation, Academician Chen Keji’s Workstation and the only CNAS laboratory in the TCM formula granules industry.
